About Three of Cups Soapery
Hi there and thanks for stopping in. My name is Laura and I am the owner, president and master creator behind Three of Cups Soapery. I started making soap at the end of 2019 and I officially opened Three of Cups Soapery as an Etsy shop in February 2020. February 2021 I migrated to my own website and I'm so pleased that you found it.
The name "Three of Cups" comes from the tarot deck. The card implies a sense of happiness, celebration and most of all fulfillment. Not necessarily the financially based, but the type of fulfillment that comes from the support of those around you and doing what you love. I chose this name because this was the type of fulfillment I'm searching for in starting my own business. The happiness and satisfaction of doing a job you were born for.
A bit about me, during the day I am a full time mom and geophysicist working in the energy sector. I have always adored nature and being in mountains. While I currently live in Houston far from mountain scenery, I am lucky to have a job where I get to study the earth (even if it's through a computer screen).
I do almost all my soap making and creating at night after the rest of the house is asleep. I have a bit of an obsession with celestial bodies and you'll see suns, moons, and stars in my soaps all the time. Especially moons. Similar to moons I think we all go through phases and I'm so excited to see where this one takes me.
Outside of soaping, I live a pretty standard life. I like to spend most of my time outside, watching the kids play while sipping on a glass of wine, chatting with friends, working in my small garden, eating brunch on a patio, or curled up on a lounge chair reading my Kindle. I love to laugh and make those around me smile. I'm hardly ever serious and ever the eternal optimist. My friends would probably all call me an extreme extrovert and I really can't help but start random conversations with people out in public. I dream about mountains and I miss being to see them out my window. I love looking up at the stars and wonder what they see when they look down on us.
In a nutshell this is me and my dream. Thank you so very much for supporting it.
